Our team shares a passion for the craft of hairstyling, an unwavering dedication to continuously honing their skills to keep up with current trends, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service. We are a collection of highly-trained stylists who work hard to provide a level of service for our clients in our suburban location that is almost impossible to experience outside of the best salons in New York City.

Mark Kuzma – Owner / Artistic Director

Fueled by a passion for innovative hair design, Mark has become one of New Jersey’s most accomplished stylists. His dedication to his craft has led to many high-profile styling assignments including; New York City Fashion Week, New Jersey Fashion Week, editorial work for Park Place Magazine, and various fashion shows and photo shoots. Mark’s work has been featured in several national fashion industry and consumer publications. A proponent of ongoing education, Mark dedicates significant time, energy and resources to ensure that his team is trained in world-renowned classes (Bumble and Bumble, Oribe, Nick Arrojo, Deva, Wella, Aveda, and L’Oreal) to ensure the skill level and services that he and his staff offer continue to keep pace with ever-changing industry trends. After working at several high-profile salons in the region, Mark founded Laboratory Hair Studio in 2005 with the vision to create a studio for highly-trained stylists with a passion for the industry and to serve an expanding clientele that demands premium service in a comfortable, contemporary atmosphere.

Anthony – Senior Designer

With over a decade in the industry, Tony is a versatile, accomplished stylist with an impressive portfolio of editorial work that includes styling photo shoots for fashion publications, fashion shows for top designers, and celebrity styling assignments. Inspired by the creative aspects of the industry, Tony is also a master educator who spends a great deal of his time outside of the salon traveling the country teaching and inspiring professional stylists with the latest cutting and color techniques. Tony is Sassoon trained, certified as a Framesi and Wella colorist, a TIGI Art team member, and an original educator for Japanese Bio Ionic straightening system. Tony is a valued member of the Laboratory team who prides himself as an all-around artist, but he specializes in special occasion styling, bridal styles, evening styles, wig cutting and styling. Tony is a sports enthusiast and spends his time out of the salon with his family, playing baseball, and coaching elite youth soccer and baseball teams.

Christina – Senior Stylist

Christina is a senior member of the Laboratory team with intense passion for the craft of hair styling and a commitment to advanced education to continuously improve her skills. Christina has had hands-on training with some of the biggest names in the industry, including master colorist Jo Blackwell and her industry inspiration, celebrity stylist Oribe. Her styling expertise allows her to educate salon professionals on current techniques, trends, styles and product knowledge. Christina serves as a Bumble and bumble Network Educator and is certified in L’Oreal Professional, Deva Curl, Inoa, Bumble Styling & Razor Cuts, Nick Arrojo, Matrix Academy, Brazilian Keratin & Brazilian Blowouts, among others. Christina enjoys spending her time away from the salon with her family and taking cross-fit training classes.

Jess – Senior Stylist

With a passion for fashion, a bubbly personality, and an infectious smile that lights up the studio, Jess is a rising star with creative vision and a loyal clientele. Her dedication to advanced training has given her the technical ability to keep up with the latest techniques and hair trends as they appear on the fashion scene. She specializes in precision cutting, razor cuts, curly cuts and corrective coloring.Jess was selected to join the Oribe team to style for designer Tim Hamilton for New York City Fashion Week. Jess serves as an Oribe educator and is certified in Deva Curl, Brazilian Keratin, Brazilian Blowout, Bumble Styling & Razor cuts, Redken Exchange, and Vidal Sassoon ABC Cutting, among others. Outside of the salon, Jess enjoys working out, spending time with family, and keeping up on current fashion trends.

Lacey – Senior Stylist, Makeup Artist

Lacey is a graduate of the Laboratory Hair Studio Education program, earning her chair as a stylist in 2010. Since then, she has tackled a series of advanced education classes that have allowed her to bring her creative inspirations to life for her clientele. Lacey has a passion for wedding and evening styles that put her in high demand during the spring and fall wedding seasons! She has also built an impressive portfolio of work styling for photo shoots, music videos, and fashion shows. Lacey was selected to join the Oribe team to style for designer Rad Hourani during New York City Fashion Week. Lacey serves as a L’Oreal educator and is certified in Deva Curl, Brazilian Keratin, Brazilian Blowout, Framesi, Pintura, and Biolage.

Stephen – Senior Stylist

Stephen is a seasoned, highly-trained professional stylist with over thirteen years of experience. Stephen joined the Laboratory Hair Studio team in 2011 and he loves helping clients who have creative style realize new & innovative ways to enhance their personal expression. Stephen specializes in shattered razor cuts, women’s long layers, precision cuts, tone-on-tone color, natural color & highlights. Stephen is also a creative force outside of the salon, spending much of his free time outside of the salon singing, playing the guitar and piano, composing music, and writing poetry.

Holly – Stylist

Holly is a passionate industry veteran who loves to utilize her skills and experience to tackle some of the most difficult hair challenges! Her goal is for each of her clients to have healthy and beautiful hair and works with each of them to achieve exceptional results. Holly joined the Laboratory Hair Studio team in 2011 and specializes in color correction, creative color, precision cuts, and cutting thin hair. Outside of the salon, Holly enjoys cooking, Martial Arts training and bringing people together.

Elisa – Stylist

Joining the Laboratory team as a dedicated and passionate assistant in 2007, Elisa is a graduate of the Laboratory Hair Studio Education program, earning her chair as a stylist in 2011.She excels in color, Inoa, and TIGI Modern Classic Cuts. Elisa is certified in Deva Curl, Brazilian Keratin, Brazilian Blowout, L’Oreal Color, Inoa, and Toni&Guy Modern Classic Cuts. Outside of the salon, Elisa enjoys spending time with her family, reading and drawing.

Caitlin – Stylist

Caitlin decided to attend cosmetology school after becoming the go-to stylist for a dozen or so members of her family and close friends. At a young age, she was fascinated with the ability to transform people’s looks with different colors and cuts. A graduate of the Laboratory Hair Studio Education Program, Caitlin is a professional stylist with a growing clientele. Caitlin enjoys using creative color as a transformative tool for clients, and loves achieving exceptional results for curly cut clients.Caitlin is certified in Deva Curl, Brazilian Keratin, Brazilian Blowout, Vidal Sassoon, American Crew Men’s Cutting, and TIGI. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys hiking and kayaking outdoors as well as attending concerts.

Alana – Assistant

Alana’s parents knew she was destined to be a stylist when she took her toy hairdressing kit and began styling her grandmother’s hair. Alana joined the Laboratory Hair Studio team in 2011 to hone her skills and learn more about the business. She immediately immersed herself in the salon’s education program and strives to own her own salon someday. Alana has a passion for updos, evening styles, creative color, and corrective color.She spends her time outside of the salon cycling, going to the gym and keeping up with current celebrity hair & makeup trends.

Christy – Skin Therapist
	Christy joined the Laboratory Hair Studio team in 2011 as a skin therapist and makeup artist. She received her education at Artistic Academy and is very passionate about making clients feel better through skin therapy. Christy is a talented makeup artist who enjoys doing special evening and bridal makeup, and she recently worked on an editorial shoot for Park Place Magazine.

Toniann – Assistant
	With a beaming smile and a passion for styling, Toniann joined the Laboratory Hair Studio team in 2011 as an assistant and has quickly become a client favorite! A recent graduate of Artistic Academy, Toniann has immersed herself in the Laboratory Education Program and has been working diligently to perfect her cut & color skills. Outside of the salon, Toniann enjoys exercising and spending time with friends.
