It can be difficult to settle on a hairstyle any day of the week! So, when it comes down to choosing a style for the Big Day, brides-to-be often buckle under the pressure of finding the perfect ‘do.

But there are so many options to choose from, especially in 2012. The challenge can just be finding the right look for you.

Simple and chic brides can never go wrong with a glamorous ballerina bun or chignon. Adding jewels, broaches or sparkling barrettes can give these styles an elegant edge. Limited by thin or fine hair? Not to worry! Hairpieces, available in all textures and hues, can make the impossible possible when it comes to top-knots and tight twists. This year, tiaras and veils will dominate the trends, giving classic wedding hairstyles a modern twist.

Who can forget the bridal party! Loose curls and sculpted waves are flattering to a wide range of cuts and textures and are always a polished option. Going for a vintage look? Try finger waves for a nostalgic flair!

No matter your style, texture or color, the best bridal trend for 2012 is anything goes! Creativity is key, so follow your instinct and walk down the aisle with a ‘do that makes you feel unique, beautiful and of course, confident!

Buns are back! Did they ever go away? Maybe not, but from messy to sleek, chignons were hot on the red carpet this weekend. A-list starlets Emma Stone, Dianna Agron, and Lea Michele all rocked their own version of the ‘do, but it took red carpet veteran Angelina Jolie to perfect the look with the most polished knot of the night.

Upswept hair with headbands — a great look for shorter hair — were also a big hit on Hollywood’s big night. Celeb BFFs Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips looked sweet and sophisticated with their hair pushed back, but Charlize Theron undoubtedly turned the most heads with her side-swept waves held in place by a blinged-out Cartier band.

To get the look on your own, begin by taming hair with a wax or pomade for definition and shine. Position headband to accentuate your cut and/or the part in your hair.  Longer hair can be loosely pulled into a ponytail (or side ponytail) and can be left either straight or curly. Pin hair with bobby pins to secure as desired and spray with Oribe Superfine Hairspray to lock in place.

And the stars proved, once again, that there’s nothing sexier than tousled, bed-head waves. Reese Witherspoon and Salma Hayek let their hair hang loose with style, but Elle MacPherson’s long locks and vivacious volume took the prize by bringing new life to the effortless look.

Soft Loose Waves:

1. Blow dry hair with a foundation product (such as Bumble and bumble Texture Crème or Oribe Gel Serum) for a little hold.  Use hands or smooth ends with a round brush if needed.
2. With a medium to large curling iron, wrap ends in opposite directions.
3. Spray with Bumble Spray de mode hairspray or Oribe Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray.
4. Let hair cool to set curls.  Shake out softly with fingers.  Spray again to finish.
